Shorade displays at NEC Classic Motor Show
The team at Shorade were delighted to take part in the Porsche Cars GB Restoration Competition finale at this years NEC Classic Motor Show 14 – 16 November. Porsche Centre Sutton Coldfield & Shorade Accident Repair Centre’s 944 Turbo Restoration displayed alongside all of this years restoration competition entries, newly launched Targa and 911 Turbo. Porsche Centre Sutton Coldfield & Shorade also displayed last years winning Porsche 911 Restoration with Porsche Club GB alongside the members display. The show was a fantastic success with over 65,000 visitors, an overwhelming amount of interest and positive feedback.
Over the course of the three days, the Porsche Cars Ownership team were on hand with a special visit from Porsche Cars GB Managing Director Chris Craft.
The Porsche Club GB stand was a hive of activity with members on hand to talk about displays, Porsche Centre Sutton Coldfield & Shorades 911 964 displayed with video’s featuring galleries and the restoration in progress. The Club shop and refreshments areas were popular destinations for members and visitors, a great opportunity to look for Christmas gifts and catch up with members.
Saturday night Shorade were delighted to be invited by Classic Grand Touring to attend the Classic & Sports Car Awards organised by Classic & Sports Car Magazine. A fabulous celebration highlighting the Clubs and personalities going that extra mile throughout the year and at the Classic Motor Show weekend.

Best Contribution by a Youngster: Michael Allen, Rover P6 Club
Best Contribution to Charity: Larry Riches, Masonic Classic Vehicle Club
Club Personality of the Year: Peter Simmonds, Austin Counties Car Club
Amongst the displays, highlights included displays from the Lamborghini Club UK, displaying an impressive range of Lamborghini’s from Classics to Aventadors and Gallardo’s. Ferrari Club displayed a gorgeous collection of rare Ferrari’s – also on the stand you could find Classic Grand Touring with a fantastic itinerary for next years Touring events. The Classic & Sports Car Magazine stand featured a rare Porsche 918. It was great to see so many friends of Shorade including the team from Bodyshop Magazine. Great weekend had by all and thank you to everyone who came to visit both of Shorade and Porsche Centre Sutton Coldfields restorations.
